To want what you’re not supposed to have…

She is only nineteen.

She is his new stepfather’s daughter.

She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.

But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.

Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…

Blaire just may have fallen too far.

What the hell! I haven’t read a book with such a bad plot like this one. Out of all the bazillion guys in this world, Blaire falls in love with Rush – her step brother! They aren’t really related I know but using the word brother and making out in the same sentence? Ewww!

So Rush is the typical – I am a bad boy, don’t get close to me – guy. But the funny thing is, he is the one who gives the warnings and he is the one who breaks them when all Blaire seems to do is mind her own business.

I didn’t feel the love between them, it was just getting on with each other which could be seriously minimized a bit. There was so many times I just wanted to put down the book. And then there were so many unnecessary characters.

I felt the book a bore and the only reason I read it was I was intrigued as to what Nan’s story was. Seriously, that’s the big secret? She is like Blaire’s step sister? The family drama just got weirder! An the ending just sucked. I thought Blaire was being too emotional. I mean poor Rush was pleading and all that and she just did the deed with the guy and dumped him! It was not like only Rush was to blame, so many others could have told her, and she hugs them all and kisses them, but dear Rush, she just breaks his heart!

And yes I want to read the second book, because in spite of all the above, I loved the book (weird me) and I want to find out if the foolish girl would get back with Rush. What can I say, I’m a sucker for happy endings.

Don’t hate me a lot 🙂
and Happy Reading 🙂 🙂

  1. If I could eliminate one type of character in the world, it might be the “bad boy you should stay away from” romantic “hero.” That is the most annoying archetype ever! Love your review, though I wish you’d gone into more detail about the unnecessary characters—like who, and why, and what you wish they’d done with them. What can I say? I like to read about people complaining. XD

Anyway, thanks for showing me what I definitely shouldn’t be reading! 🙂

    • ha ha ha 😀 it was so bad I forgot the story so soon, but hey you should maybe read the never too far and forever too far, according to me, it didn’t seem that bad and well there was a BABY involved 🙂 I’m a sucker for babies :p The only reason I continued reading the series was because I wanted to know if atleast they would end up together.

Thank you so much for commenting, it motivates me to post reviews, and I will keep in mind your suggestions.

      Nice meeting ya 🙂
